My favorite marketing coach, Kendall SummerHawk, received notification right before the holidays from her mail box store that they were closing for good … in just one month … and NO forwarding of mail would be allowed.
If your mailing address suddenly had to change, would it send you into a panic?
Kendall shared some tips about what her company did to handle this situation with grace and ease. Below you will find the advice she shared in an email to her clients.
- Run a report of all vendors you have paid in the past year. If you use something like QuickBooks, this is an easy report to run.
- List all of the sources send you checks to (clients, affiliate partners, etc.).
- Put it all in a spreadsheet.
- List all of the government agencies or banks who send you forms and statements (the IRS, each state you have payroll for, business banking, plus legal documents for things like trademarks and copyrights).
- List all places where your address appears (mailing labels, website, email signature, product and workbook covers, contracts and agreements).
- Put everything into a spreadsheet, then dig in and start notifying everyone about your address change. Include a place on the spreadsheet where you can include notification date and how they were notified.
- Post your new address in the Facebook groups you use for clients.
- List any places that provide you with services or subscriptions. (Note: This is a great opportunity to cancel services or subscriptions to things you no longer want.)
Making these kinds of changes in your business can feel overwhelming. Click here to access my free report, 7 Strategies to Overcome Overwhelm.
