Charitable Donations of Goods

Links to organizations that accept tax-deductible items you can donate are listed below. Do a Google search for your local area to find more charities that accept in-kind contributions.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TAX SAVINGS: Keep track of your charitable donations so you can get a tax deduction. For years, I have used a free online program called ItsDeductible to keep track of mine and it has saved me thousands of dollars on my taxes, because I donate a lot of in-kind as well as cash contributions.. In order to use this when it’s time to do your taxes, you must purchase TuboTax Deluxe (even if you have a CPA doing your tax returns for you), as the software will generate the Form 8283 — the Noncash Charitable Contributions IRS form that must be attached to your return if you claim more than $500 in non-cash contributions. The number of hours it would take for your CPA to manually create this form would be astronomical, so it is well worth the investment each year in TurboTax Deluxe if you have in-kind contributions in excess of $500. Your tax savings will more than pay for this software.
